Sugarloaf Ridge Lies

 by Jennifer Ryder

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

SUGARLOAF RIDGE LIES by Jennifer Ryder is LIVE!

Wow, where to start with this book. How about the glorious cover that I want on my bookshelf.
We know this town if you've read 'Sugarloaf Ridge Secrets' It was like coming home. The characters are all warm and wonderful and so Aussie...like me.
This is such a beautifully written tale of second chances, love, life and not to forget secrets. Jerry's whole life is one big secret and he needed someone like Liv, the towns new school teacher. He had some growing up to do, and yet secrets were eating away at him. Liv had her own secret and needed to time to sort out her own life. Her baggage was heart breaking, she deserves a happy life.
I really love this author's stories, so warm and easy to read. I highly recommend this story and better yet try both of them.

Troublemaker. Distant son. Loner.

Farmer Jericho McAllister has typically shied away from dating, preferring the occasional one-nighter. His bad reputation has kept people at a distance, but there’s always been something missing.

Until Liv.

New to town, the young teacher has a way of drawing him from the shadows. She sees past town gossip, instead focusing on the good in his heart and his hopes for a future, restoring the old lavender farm. He wants the kind of relationship his brother Finn has, but can he commit and lead an honest life when he’s been surrounded with lies from birth?

Peacemaker. Estranged daughter. Lost soul.

In the wake of devastation, Olive Rosehill is determined to keep her promise—to make a difference. Holding herself responsible for tragedy, she jumps at the chance to start over in Sugarloaf Ridge. Her aim to focus on work and forget the past is going to plan.

Until Jerry.

The enigmatic farmer’s strong yet shy demeanor leaves her wanting more, but is she ready for a chance at love? And if she reveals the cause of her nightmares, will their budding steamy relationship fizzle out?

A story about family, trust and second chances by Jennifer Ryder.

Local Girl Missing: A totally unputdownable crime thriller and mystery novel (Detective Josie Quinn Book 15)

 by Lisa Regan

Oh my goodness, it's so stressful to review a great story and do it justice. My heart is still racing and I hated to finish this story.
Josie and Noah are partners in life and careers. A local mystery, one girl dead and the other running for her life. Josie and Noah were returning from leave, stopped in the fog and this crime played out in front of them
This story was so well written, I couldn't tell who, why and what on earth was going on. Little flack backs from someone's life played out between the chapters, I'd no idea who that was.
There are so many twists and turns in this plot you may be dizzy. I loved the way the author wove all the pieces together wrapping up this mystery. I just couldn't put this book down, bravo Ms Regan this is a winner.

Through swirling dawn fog, they follow the trail of discarded items at their feet: a tube of glittery lip gloss; a cell phone; a cracked make-up compact, broken chunks of ivory powder spilling into the grass. Then the mist parts—just for a second—to reveal a beautiful young girl on the ground, her pale lips frozen forever in a silent scream…

On a winding mountain road into the small town of Denton, Pennsylvania,
Detective Josie Quinn finds the body of a local teenage girl, Dina Hale. The sight of plum-colored bruises gathering around the girl’s neck pierces Josie’s heart, but the discovery of a second girl’s empty purse in the dirt nearby gives her a flicker of hope that one person, at least, made a lucky escape.

Dina’s parents are grief-stricken as the town rallies together in a desperate search for the second girl, Alison Mills, who waitressed with Dina at a local hotel. The two best friends were on their way to a shift when they were attacked. Josie was too late to save Dina, but she won’t rest until Alison is home safe.

Hitting a dead-end with interviews, Josie thinks she’s on to something when a photo surfaces suggesting Alison was romantically involved with one of the hotel staff. But when Josie arrives at the man’s house to find a bullet in his head, and the house ransacked, the case comes crashing down.

Evidence of frantic searching at both crime scenes has Josie convinced a twisted killer is on a hunt for something very personal and precious. And that they won’t stop until they find it.
But how many innocent lives will be destroyed before Josie can uncover the missing piece at the heart of this deadly puzzle? And what sacrifices will she have to make to find Alison alive?

An absolutely unputdownable crime thriller from an Amazon, USA Today and Wall Street Journal bestselling author. Perfect for fans of Angela Marsons, Robert Dugoni and Rachel Caine. WARNING: will keep you up all night flipping pages until dawn!

I'll start by saying this book is so bloody long, and yet not boring.

It was an extremely rough week for me with two funerals and I was so grateful to have such an uplifting story. I'm Aussie so the slang wasn't new to me and I just 'got it'. This has a great storyline and highly amusing characters. Not sure who I liked better, leather jacket or kilt wearing Scots. Tucker was more than just a cocky guy, he had many layers to his personality. Ophelia, well her baggage is heart breaking. I truly loved their journey of love. Fast and yet real. I highly recommend this Rom Com, it was a fun read.

What happens when an ex-military, cocky musician meets a sassy ex-bounty hunter? Sparks will fly.

Tucker Royal was born cocky.
Tall, bearded, and rock star handsome, he is only looking to order two coffees to-go when he walks into Peace Café.
Instead, Tucker leaves with a pocket-rocket spitfire in his arms, returning her safely to Temecula wine country after their meet-cute takes a turn for the worse.
Ophelia doesn’t date. She’s in a committed relationship, working on herself and her soon-to-be-open tiny house Airbnb business, the Fainting Goat Ranch.
Tucker wants a date.
There is a non-date in their future—which in no way gets classified as a date—an ambush is more like it, assisted by Ophelia’s cousin and his wife. It leads to Tucker bringing his secret weapon—his sisters—into play.
The more time spent in Tucker’s witty, banter-filled company, the more she could see the man underneath.
But Ophelia’s guarding a painful secret. In her eyes, love can only wreck you.
It’s a good thing for Ophelia that Tucker’s leaving for a ten-week vacation with his sisters. Things can get back to normal because Gwendoline, her boom box-loving, curvy Aussie BFF, arrives to keep her company and help her run the Airbnb.
Tucker’s vacation turns into a spontaneous secret mission, going off the grid, keeping communication open only with his trusted best friend, Shamus MacDougall.
Tucker finds creative ways to court Ophelia from afar, using his Scottish friends as allies—the Mighty MacDougalls—with hilarious results.
Until trouble comes Ophelia’s way.
Are they fated to be ships in the night, with Ophelia’s secret forever hidden, or can they find their way into each other’s arms, no matter the cost?

The Brand that Binds: Book 2 in the Forbidden Omegaverse series

 by Evangeline Anderson

Book Links >>> https://books2read.com/thebrandthatbinds

Reading all the warnings, I thought oh no please let me like this story. Well I must say this author never disappoints and wrote it so well that I wasn't grossed out...well maybe a little for a short scene.
I read on my daily train commute and nearly missed my stop, couldn't wait for lunch time to read some more. This story and the characters really grabbed my attention and wouldn't let go. The story bounced a little between timelines so we can see what happened in their childhood.
They are were and quite a bit special, there is danger all around them and you'll be hoping for a rescue and safe outcome.
All I can say is what a riveting story with awesome characters this book was, I highly recommend it.

Bound together by a brand…
Kept apart by the unyielding rules of the Pack.
My foster brother, Nick and I are destined to be Fated Mates
But when his Beast comes out on the night my NEED is on me
Will we commit an unforgivable sin together?

Being an orphan is tough…going through the foster care system is even tougher. I never would have made it through without my foster brother, Nick Callahan, to guide and protect me. But Nick and I have a troubled past. See, he’s full-blooded Were and I’m half Were and back before our fathers died, they swore an oath to be blood brothers and had both Nick and I branded to prove that we were family.

Nick and I went our separate ways after we got out of the system, but I made the mistake of going back to my hometown of Wolverton on the night of the Open Breeding. And who should be there but Nick—my foster brother and protector and the one and only man I’ve ever really loved. But we’re forbidden to be together—the same brands that mark us as “family” keep us forever apart.

And there’s another problem—Nick has a secret, one he’s been keeping from me for years. You see, he’s not a normal Were—he doesn’t shift into a wolf. Instead, he has a beast inside, half man/half wolf—an eight foot tall monster that hungers for me just as much as Nick does. Now I must choose between my foster brother and breaking the Unbreakable Laws of the pack. But under the full moon when his beast comes out and the Breeding Fever makes me crazy with need and desire, will I really have a choice?
You’ll have to read The Brand that Binds, book two in the Forbidden Omegaverse series to find out…

Shadow Warrior: (Shadow SEALs)

 by Sharon Hamilton

I saw the advice from others that I should read the first book, but I have a terrible memory anyway. I read the blurb and a few reviews and felt I had enough back story not to get lost. Maggie was on a mission, despite being kidnapped there she was determined to go back and help the people. Leaving behind a small daughter along with her partner Brady a SEAL who had connections if anything should go wrong. I enjoyed hearing about their home life, a simple country life raising flora and fauna. There is trouble in Mexico and citizens are being held at the airport. Trouble is on the way so who will arrive first, the militia or Brady and his fellow warriors? I have to say I didn't like Maggie, she seemed quite selfish and uncaring for her life that affected everyone else. Thank you to the author who pulled me into this story and made me 'feel'.

Following Maggie’s harrowing rescue, former SEAL Brady Rogers wants to finally settle down, drop his weapons and assume the role of husband, father, and country farmer.

But Maggie isn’t done saving exploited women from abuse at the hands of dangerous and evil human-trafficking cartels.

When Brady is given a mission he cannot refuse, can their little family and intense love survive as they’re driven in different directions?

SHADOW WARRIOR is the continuation of the story SHADOW OF THE HEART, Sharon's new book in the Shadow Sisters multi-author series. If you've been wondering what these steamy SEAL heroes are up to, you don't have to wait much longer!

State (novella) (Diamond MC Book 2)

 by Lila Rose

I loved State and Courtney's story. He looked across the room and knew he had to get to know this woman. He's a tattoo covered not so bad boy and she's a curvaceous woman totally out of her depth in this club. Full of self doubt and yet a little sassy, State is determined that they will be together.
These two were a great couple, she had complete faith in him as the drama unfolded. Her family were awesome too.
This was such a great read.

Some people say you can fall for someone at first sight.
I think they’re f*cked in the head… until I see her across the room.

Courtney Anthony has walked into the wrong clubhouse.
As soon as I spot her, I know what I want.
And what I want most is her.

It’s time to see how State meets his old lady.

Craving Justice (Brothers of Justice Book 1)

 by Fiona Archer

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

My first read was in 2017, then I had the pleasure of reading this again 5 yrs later. New content and fantastic ending.

2017: Bravo Ms Archer, I didn't see that coming. I discovered my love for this author's writing from Lori King when I read an anthology for her. I've finally had the chance to start this series and wow, what a ride. I didn't have any issues with the lingo...oh wait I'm an Aussie too.
These once homeless boys who have banded together as brothers are being victimised in the cyber world. This is basically the younger brother Seth's story but there is plenty of imput from the other guys. He and his woman Harper are dragged through the mud trying to solve this crime while Harper is being made to look like the guilty party.
The story was well written, I was entertained throughout. There was plenty of action, drama, love and sexy sizzling scenes. I loved all the characters and look forward to the next tale involving one of the other guys.

2022: I had the pleasure of reading this story again 5 years later, I didn't remember the storyline which is awesome as once again I had no clue :) Fantastic start to this series, with new content added. Awesome ending and I can't wait to read the next brother's story.

Powerful millionaire falls for the nerdy, warm-hearted daughter of his business rival.

Seth Justice plays to win.
Rule breaker. Former street kid from Sydney. Now a technology mogul in Seattle. He's negotiated the deal of his life, selling his company for a fortune.

Not part of the contract is Harper Fox, the buyer's sweet, klutzy daughter. For an overprotective, commanding man like Seth, Harper with her charming mix of vulnerability and spirit, is irresistible.

When a hidden enemy attacks the new life Seth and his adopted brothers have built, loyalties are tested, threatening not only his developing relationship with Harper, but also the last remaining ties with his brothers. At the moment of truth, Seth must decide if the woman who unlocked his fortress-like heart is his enemy's accomplice.

After a lifetime of disappointing her cold, judgemental parents, Harper created a new family with close friends and her cafe's eccentric staff. She's content-
ish in her safe, boring world.

That is, until Seth, with his panty-melting Aussie accent and masterful stare entices her to take a chance--on him. Seth's confident, take-charge attitude awakens a need in Harper that leaves her hungry for more.

When she finds herself in mortal danger, will the man she's trusted with her heart believe in her?

Note to Readers: Lovers-to-enemies-to-lovers romance. Smart, stationery-adoring heroine in danger. Big, overprotective hero who comes with a family of adopted, overprotective, grumpy brothers. Heat level: Inferno. HEA guaranteed.
