1001 Dark Nights Short Story Anthology 2020

by Fiona Archer and 35 other authors listed below

Amazon - It's currently FREE

I can't wait to work through these stories. I've read Prince of Seattle by Fiona Archer so far.

It's nice to see Ms Archer revisiting some of my fave characters

Kayla and Gabriel had a history, but as a teen she was too young and he was still a playboy. Working together without noticing a thunder storm causing flooding they are trapped for the night in his home. It's time to talk, as there is no escape. What were his reasons for emotionally hurting her those few years ago?

Pity the story was so short as I would love more but it's a great tease as I'm sure the rest of the short stories will be.

1001 Dark Nights Press is excited to present the winners of the 2020 short story challenge...

When we started 1001 Dark Nights back in 2014, it was with the goal of discovery—creating a way for readers to find new-to-them bestselling authors and fall in love with their stories and their worlds.

This year, we held a contest where romance authors could submit a short story to be included in a 1001 Dark Nights anthology, and we were blown away by the results. We received hundreds of entries, and while we wish we could include everyone, we’re thrilled to introduce you to these thirty-six incredible authors:

Fiona Archer ~ Louisa Bacio ~ Laura M. Baird ~ Kait Ballenger ~ Asa Maria Bradley ~ Eden Bradley ~ Boone Brux ~ C.G. Burnette ~ Cara Carnes ~ Caraway Carter ~ Sierra Cartwright ~ S.A. Clayton ~ Katana Collins ~ Janie Crouch ~ Patricia D. Eddy ~ Zoey Ellis ~ Zoe Hill ~ Sara L. Hudson ~ Tracey Jerald ~ A.D. Justice ~ Terri E. Laine ~ Michelle Mars ~ Gina L. Maxwell ~ Kayt Miller ~ Dani RenΓ© ~ Gen Ryan ~ Blue Saffire ~ Ella Sheridan ~ Mayra Statham ~ Delancey Stewart ~ Jen Talty ~ Mary Ting ~ Reina Torres ~ Magan Vernon ~ Jennifer Woodhull ~ Khloe Wren

We hope you love the stories as much as we do. If so, we encourage you to check out the other books by these wonderful authors. Each and every one is unique and special.

Danger and desire - free on Amazon for 2 weeks

Currently free for the next 2 weeks - 5 stars

Amazon

What a fantastic anthology this is, I've enjoyed all the stories immensely. It's also free so what are you waiting for.

I've discovered new to me authors and revisited some faves and their series.

Caitlyn O'Leary - her heroes are always swoon worthy. Lawson carried the grief of his brother's death, it affected his life and decisions. Jill's grief was over her cousin, almost a sister. Both meeting at a counselling group, coffee turned into so much more and sparks sizzled. I enjoyed the slow burn of their impending romance. When danger stalked her we watch Law go all macho and protective, this Marine Raider was deadly serious in his security measures for her. This was a wonderful story and had likeable characters, I'm ready to read more of this family.

Maryann Jordan - I love the Lighthouse Series. - Levi is headed across country to start his new job at Lighthouse security. A circumstance has him starting his role before he even arrives. Who is this woman and can she be trusted? We have sparks flying here, but he must find out if she is a criminal or a victim. Their story is short but sweet and I'm guessing we'll learn the growth of these characters in other stories in this series.

Elle James - another favourite of mine. A delta hero and a war correspondent, she is someone from his past. Can they have their second chance? Will they both even survive the war zone? Plenty of danger and drama in this one, I loved it.

Kimberly Kincaid - new to me author, just what I need more books on my TBR pile. lol

I enjoyed these characters, he's a cop and feels unworthy due to his past to see Tara. She's educated, an ADA and super smart. Sizzling moments will inevitably bring them together. A criminal is after her and they don't even realise. Will he be able to save her life? Intriguing story and I look forward to some full length novels by this author

Rachel Grant - Haven't read this author before, so I'm interested to see a full size novel. I enjoyed reading about the Alaskan area in which this was set. And of course the owls. This couple almost left their relationship too late, 3 years of what ifs, just wanted to smack him. I didn't really have a conclusion with this one, a few loose ends that I guess continue in this authors stories to come.

Cat Johnson - Not read this author before either. This one takes place in DC but the action is overseas. Seemed like a regular romance until one circumstance had me glued to my kindle.

Cristin Harber - Another new to me author. Secrets could make or break a relationship. She's no idea what on earth is going on. Who is this man she loves? I've not read this series so I felt like something was missing. Perhaps it would be better not read as a stand alone.

Janie Crouch - Haven't read this author before, not knowing her characters made no difference as the story unfolded with mainly the two main characters and their drama.
She's practically a recluse, hiding from the world after surviving a traumatic event. He's been secretly watching her, not in a bad way but keeping her safe. That is until he brings danger to her door. This was an exciting action packed story and it was fun watching their romance blossom.
