Review:

This book was just what I needed while not feeling great seemed an excuse to curl up and read in one go.
Pru is a dog trainer, an interesting girl with amnesia for all her childhood. An accident that took her mother and left her in a coma so everything is new again. She had a stint as dog handler in a movie and now she's home from Hollywood making a new life.
Her neighbour across the hall Darius takes an instant liking to her and helps her with a few things in her apartment.
All the characters in this story were likeable, or love to hate in one case.
Set in Australia I love my bit of sightseeing of an area I've not been to.
The story was emotional, yes I cried and not just happy tears. I did not see that ending coming, well done, great book.

BLURB

Celebrity dog trainer Prudence Cassidy never imagined her life would be like this. Filming in Hollywood went haywire when she caught the charismatic Mr Hollywood’s eye—but Prue doesn’t have room in her life for complications. She’s still recovering from retrograde amnesia so she flees to Robertson, home of the ‘Big Potato’ in country Australia, determined to start anew.

For Darius Dalton, family comes first. Always. His architectural dreams can wait while he tends bar in the family restaurant in Robertson, dazzling patrons with his cocktails whilst maintaining the complex he built with his late father. Day in, day out, work is all he sees—until Prue.

When she moves into his apartment building, Darius falls head over paw for the animal-loving brunette—and it seems she feels the same way. Their chemistry is undeniable. The more time they spend together, the more Darius questions if he can have it all: a life outside of work, and love.

When Mr Hollywood himself comes to town, intent on winning her back and casting her simple life in the spotlight, who will Prue choose?

That’s the thing about the past—your dirty laundry will always find you.

Sugarloaf Ridge Lies

 by Jennifer Ryder

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

SUGARLOAF RIDGE LIES by Jennifer Ryder is LIVE!

Wow, where to start with this book. How about the glorious cover that I want on my bookshelf.
We know this town if you've read 'Sugarloaf Ridge Secrets' It was like coming home. The characters are all warm and wonderful and so Aussie...like me.
This is such a beautifully written tale of second chances, love, life and not to forget secrets. Jerry's whole life is one big secret and he needed someone like Liv, the towns new school teacher. He had some growing up to do, and yet secrets were eating away at him. Liv had her own secret and needed to time to sort out her own life. Her baggage was heart breaking, she deserves a happy life.
I really love this author's stories, so warm and easy to read. I highly recommend this story and better yet try both of them.

Troublemaker. Distant son. Loner.

Farmer Jericho McAllister has typically shied away from dating, preferring the occasional one-nighter. His bad reputation has kept people at a distance, but there’s always been something missing.

Until Liv.

New to town, the young teacher has a way of drawing him from the shadows. She sees past town gossip, instead focusing on the good in his heart and his hopes for a future, restoring the old lavender farm. He wants the kind of relationship his brother Finn has, but can he commit and lead an honest life when he’s been surrounded with lies from birth?

Peacemaker. Estranged daughter. Lost soul.

In the wake of devastation, Olive Rosehill is determined to keep her promise—to make a difference. Holding herself responsible for tragedy, she jumps at the chance to start over in Sugarloaf Ridge. Her aim to focus on work and forget the past is going to plan.

Until Jerry.

The enigmatic farmer’s strong yet shy demeanor leaves her wanting more, but is she ready for a chance at love? And if she reveals the cause of her nightmares, will their budding steamy relationship fizzle out?

A story about family, trust and second chances by Jennifer Ryder.

This is the third year in a row I've read this Aussie author around Australia Day, it's a coincidence but fitting.
This was a beautiful tale set in a small country town. I can't imagine knowing everyone around you while I'm invisible in the suburbs.
Daynah was on a mission for the betterment of her career but she got so much more than she bargained for. Finn was one of a kind, you wonder is she on the rebound or just fated to meet him.
I loved Daynah's back story, her hunt for her identity and the way the author wove all these pieces together. Daynah's health issues had me gripping my kindle.
Such a wonderful story, I absolutely loved it.

A town not as sweet as it sounds...

Daynah Walsh’s ticket to her dream job at Metropolitan magazine has just been handed to her—but before she can move into that corner office, she must take on an assignment in the small town of Sugarloaf Ridge and expose the town’s longest-held secret. What became of the baby that was abandoned on the steps of the bakery almost twenty-five years ago?

Daynah expects easy answers and to gain some editorial experience. What she doesn’t expect is a growing friendship with cattle station manager Finn McAllister and the tight-knit community to welcome her like a member of their family.
The problem is, no one will talk.

Three years ago, Finn McAllister was dumped at the altar. Every waking moment since he’s devoted to the family property, Banridge Station.
When the new contract editor of The Song arrives, she’s like a brilliant ray of sunshine. Daynah awakens his heart as she brings life and hope to the town. Finn’s always been one to fall fast, and before too long, he’s done for.
The problem is, she’s asking too many questions.

Will Daynah break the story? Will Finn and the town finally be the key to healing the scars of her past?

Sing it, Sam

by Jennifer Ryder (showcasing an  Aussie Author and my fave book last year)

Amazon

For the last few years each January, I seem to stumble upon a book that leaves me thinking 'nothing else will top this for the year'. And once again it's an intro to an author I don't know and yet I feel I won't forget in a hurry.

About this book, yeah I'm still numb. 'The feels', the highs and lows, the laughter and the tears wrung from me. A small town, quirky characters and real life situations. I can't go on about this story without spoiling for you. I've been touched deeply by it and absolutely recommend you come on this journey with me and fall in love with Jane and Sam.

Jane Rhynehart has a cosy shack in the pumpkin-obsessed town of Willow Creek, and a new job—if only she was able to write like the other women in the local writers’ group. But how can Jane write the perfect romance when she’s never experienced love?
After a lengthy stay in hospital, budding singer and songwriter Sam Marshall ends up as a resident in Willow Creek Nursing Home. Jane soon becomes his guiding light. But how can he be a man for her when he relies on so many others day-to-day?

Will Sam turn out to be the perfect muse to help Jane write her epic romance? Will Jane be the one to teach Sam how to truly live? Does love truly know no barriers?
