Insanity (Psychic Visions Book 24)

 by Dale Mayer

Amazon

🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩

This story left my head spinning. Dr Cressy comes back to work after 6 months of emotional healing. There is evil in the sanatorium, only it's not in this realm. Changes were made when she left, and they were not for the good of the patients. Food, cleanliness and security were some of the issues and she knew she had a fight on her hands. FBI Agent Gray is by her side most of the way. He needs answers from a child patient regarding his family death, only he won't see what's actually coming!! There were so many layers to this story, from corruption to danger. Well written characters and their stories, I just couldn't put it down.

Dr. Cresswell Simmons, a dream worker, is passionate about traumatized psychics and works in a psychiatric hospital to find those she can help. Six months ago, she barely survived a traumatic experience with a patient. Now on the cusp of returning to work and dreading every minute of it, she’s asked to step back into the same case that almost destroyed her. She desperately wants to say no, but an eight-year-old boy’s life is at stake.

Gray Burnett had worked on the original case, watching the devastation that had hurt Cressy. When asked to help her retrieve the information they need, he agrees—but more to protect her and the little boy than following orders. When her return to work is less than joyful, he wonders at the undercurrents in the hospital, as jealousy, admin disputes, even Board of Director members dominate the investigation and not in a good way.

Cressy is used to a world that doesn’t understand her work, but she needs Gray to open up and to see what’s going on around them. It’s the only way they will survive, as the case takes a bizarre turn that shocks even her …

What If... (Psychic Vision Book 20)

 by Dale Mayer

What a great book to start 2022 with, also this is one of my favourite series. Abby is a cop and Leon a college prof but also a former cop. He's connected to her case via a victim or two. People are dying, with no cause of death. What is the connection, not only to each other but to the past as well? This was one intriguing whodunnit, I had no idea what was going on, how or why and when I did...WHAT no I didn't see that coming until the final second! Brilliant story, if you love a good mystery that is out of the norm then this series is for you.

What If …
Detective Abigail Cartwright has earned a reputation for solving weird homicide cases, but, when she’s called to a lecture hall at the local university, she faces the oddest one yet. During a What If … lecture, run by soon-to-be-retired Professor Gertrude Milligan, two students died. Without any signs of how or why.
Confused, Abby digs in to solve the mystery, only to find several old cases connect—or do they? Were the two students murdered, or was something else going on?
Professor Leon Wellington is worried about his aunt Gertie. Their personal history was bad enough, but to have two of her favorite students die right in front of her has left her shocked and grieving. How can she not be a prime suspect in this case? Then she goes missing …
When the past collides with the present, the stakes are higher than ever, as a killer realizes how close he is to losing everything …

Bullards Beauty (Bullard's Battle Book 8)

 by Dale Mayer

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome series

It's been a while coming, while we anxiously waited for news on Bullard. Why he hasn't contacted his team in all this time.
Injuries, amnesia and surgery kept him mostly unconscious and unaware of who he was. His saviour, Leia is a trained surgeon enjoying her time in isolation on a tranquil island due to a past disaster. Finding Bullard on the beach and tending to him for weeks he finally is stronger in body and mind as his memories return. Contacting the outside world could bring rescue or danger to their location.
When Leia is affected by these circumstances it's a race to find out if it's her past or his...or is it both?
I loved all the action and danger and did not see the end twist coming.
Great story.

Bullard’s barely aware of his surroundings, as he slowly emerges from a coma and months of slow healing. He recognizes the general area but not the facilities or the woman attending him. Neither does he remember exactly what happened.

Leia, a gifted surgeon in her own right, hadn’t expected this giant of a man to wash up in the shallows by her beach, nor to call on every trick she’s ever learned to keep him alive. Her instincts tell her to take a leave, to keep him hidden, even as she struggles to answer his questions. The longer he’s with her, the more she realizes how hard it could be to let him go. But he has turned the corner and is healing quickly.

Only the real world intrudes faster than expected, as one of Bullard’s team shows up on her beach, bringing others, who’d been watching and waiting for the team to find Bullard for them—and now swoop in for the kill …

Caleb (The K9 Files Book 11)

 by Dale Mayer

Amazon

A great series, of course the dogs steal the show.
Caleb is on a mission to find a missing retired war dog back in his home town.
He gets way more than he bargained for. Staying with childhood friend Laysha he also helps her renovate her home. The chemistry is there, will he notice her as more than a buddy?
Meanwhile an anonymous source reveals the location of the dog. It's bad, will he and the dog get out alive?
I really enjoyed reading this story, there was a lot more going on that will keep you entertained.

For Caleb, returning to his hometown for his brother’s wedding should have been cause for a wonderful celebration. However, since his brother is marrying Caleb’s ex-wife, Caleb doesn’t want to go anywhere near the event. Yet Caleb returns, as his best friend, Laysha, is in the same town, and they are overdue a reunion. Plus Caleb’s been asked to look into a War Dog adopted out but now missing.
Having Caleb back in town, at her house even, Laysha couldn’t be happier, all the while knowing Caleb still had issues with his ex-wife. When Caleb and Laysha take a trip to the last known residence where the War Dog had been and instead find a human corpse, life takes a dark turn.
Even worse, they are seen at the house and have both become targets … in a game Caleb has to win or will lose everything that’s important in his life.

Shane (The Mavericks Book 12)

 by Dale Mayer

Amazon

Another action packed, suspenseful read in this fabulous series. Shane's mission is personal, his life long friend Shelly is involved in a hostage situation. There was so much more to this than they could believed.
Kidnapping, murder, double crossing agents and a pregnant woman to save. What an exciting tale of intrigue this all made, I couldn't put it down.
You'll be wanting Shane and Shelly to wake up and see what's under their noses...The pregnant lady to survive to have a HEA... and to learn more about Diesel.
Great book, wonderful characters, I loved it.

Her kidnappers demanded Shane arrive. Finding out his best friend was held as a pawn just pissed him off. Finding out rescuing her was a test made him seriously angry. He hates being used. These men mean business though, as Shane finds a body count too high for comfort.

Shelly knew Shane would come for her. No way he wouldn’t. She was lucky to have Shane there for her, especially when learning a second woman had been kidnapped and held for over six months. The simple rescue of Shelly turns into something more to find this second woman.

But is there one killer boss out there or two? As the pair try to secure their own freedom, it gets even murkier, until finding a way through is paramount. Otherwise no one gets a happy ending.

Ryland’s Reach (Bullard's Battle Book 1)

 by Dale Mayer

Amazon

5 stars

Wow, what a crazy ride. Escaping an exploding place in a debris filled ocean only to be shot at time and time again. Who wants Ryland dead? His rescuing Angel who plucked him from the ocean is also in danger. Was it just about being in the wrong place at the wrong time or do their lives intertwine somehow?
Such an exciting tale of intrigue as the characters set up a trap determined to bring out the rats and end this chase once and for all.

Ryland's Reach book 1 of Bullard's Battle

His rescue from the ocean after a horrible plane explosion was his top priority, in any way, shape, or form. A small sailboat and a nurse to do the job was more than Ryland hoped for.

When Tabi somehow drags him and his buddy Garret onboard and surprisingly gets them to a naval ship close by, Ryland figures he’d used up all his luck and his friend’s too. Sure enough, those who attacked the plane they were in weren’t content to let him slowly die in the ocean. No. Surviving had made him a target all over again.

Tabi isn’t expecting her sailing holiday to include the rescue of two badly injured men and then to end with the loss of her beloved sailboat. Her instincts save them, but now she finds it tough to let them go—even as more of Bullard’s team members come to them—until it becomes apparent that not only are Bullard and his men still targets … but she is too.

Ice Maiden : A Psychic Visions Novel

 by Dale Mayer

ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT

Amazon

This was certainly a story that grabbed my attention from the beginning. This is one of my fave series by this author.
I was a bit creeped out at the beginning and had no idea what was going on.
Of course to soften the story there was going to be some romance. The chemistry between Gabby and the detective certainly sizzled quietly in the background as she was part of his case. Who is slaying these women and how is it related to a 30 year old cold case. There's evil in this world and perhaps beyond. I enjoyed the ins and outs of this book very much. The author wove a fascinating tale of intrigue.

Gabby Mulder was loving her winter in Aspen, Colorado, until a dangerous event with a ghost nearly killed her. Not that she was a believer but, given the circumstances, she had to be open to such a possibility. When one of her roommates is brutally murdered in their shared apartment, rumors circulate of a serial killer returning, which just adds to Gabby’s pain. Confused and grieving, Gabby is forced to move to a new residence, while the police investigate the death, the crime scene at the apartment, and her.
Detective Damon Fletcher considered Gabby a flighty troublemaker after an incident at the bookstore where she worked and then later on the slopes. But when one of her roommates is murdered, his interest in her grows to a whole new level.
When another of Gabby’s roommates is killed, Gabby is caught in the middle, as suspicious gazes turn her way. What had she gotten mixed up in? Even worse how are these deaths connected to several cold cases? The danger escalates as events, ghostly and otherwise, strike closer to both Gabby and all those who she holds dear.

SEALs of Honor: Axel

 by Dale Mayer

Amazon

Another great series that I enjoy immensely. Axel is part of a team on a mission to investigate a downed submarine. Is anyone on board still alive? There's more to this than they imagined with murder and sabotage. Dr Allee Minga is found to be the only survivor so that puts her in the scapegoat position. Axel is determined to keep her safe. There is plenty of mystery and intrigue in this story, the romance comes much later. A very entertaining story, I loved it.

Life was never boring, but, for Axel, things kick up a notch when he helps in an underwater rescue of a downed submarine that’s low on oxygen. What they find is nothing like what they expected. All the crew but one was dead—as in shot to death. The last remaining crew member was alive but in rough shape. What the hell happened here?

Allee woke up in the hospital and barely remembers how she got here. But a fuzzy memory only compounds the horror when the investigation ranks her as their number one suspect in the nightmare that won’t quit.

As the investigation takes a darker turn, so does her life, as someone decides a dead patsy is better than one who can talk …

Rowan (The K9 Files Book 10)

 by Dale Mayer

Amazon

I'm such a fan of this series. Rowan is on the hunt for a missing K9 after the California bushfires and his paths cross with Brandi who is also hunting for her missing dog. There is so much more going on than missing dogs, who is shooting at them? Murder, kidnapping, injured dogs and break ins, this book has it all. Let's not forget chemistry and a simmering romance. What great characters these two were, you'll be hoping for a HEA after all they've been through.

Rowan hopes that the deep emptiness inside him might possibly heal—if he just finds the retired K9 Hershey, named after an old trainer buddy. Nothing can hold Rowan back from locating his old K9 friend. What he didn’t expect was his old friend had found a new friend, with puppies of her own.

Brandi had just lost her grandmother, her home, and her best four-legged friend, Lacey, in a horrible forest fire that swept through town. Everyone said to not give up on Lacey, as dogs often disappeared only to reappear later. That one thought calls her to spend every spare moment she has at the site, calling for Lacey. When she realizes someone else has the same idea, she’s happy to join forces.

When things get ugly, she’s glad to have someone at her side because she hadn’t seen what ugly could really look like … until now.

Zack's Zest: A SEALs of Honor World Novel (Heroes for Hire Book 24)

 by Dale Mayer

Amazon

Another action packed story in this series. Zack is off to Turkey to rescue a young woman kidnapped. I curled up on the couch this lazy Sunday afternoon reading it in one sitting, it was impossible to put down.
Zadie and Zack had chemistry, though neither could see it at the beginning.
There was plenty of suspense, danger and action in this book. Great likable characters too. I loved every moment of it and can't wait for the next one after the teaser at the end.

Zack wasn’t someone to focus on his mistakes, but he’d made a big one, and it was hard to move on from it. Still he was determined to work with Levi’s team to find new meaning in his life and to get his head on straight. At least that was the plan. When he ends up part of a two-man team to rescue a kidnapped woman, the daughter of a former politician, Zack doesn’t know how to react—she’s certainly unique. Not the least of which, she didn’t appreciate the rescue. … At least not once she learns the details.
Zadie knew her father was guilty of the crimes he’d been accused of. She was more concerned about her mother, who’d always been the downtrodden and obedient wife. But, as more and more evidence shines a light on their lives and her kidnapping, the issue is no longer as clear.
Heartbroken at the losses that keep mounting, Zadie knows she needs a second rescue—hopefully by her same rescuer. Only it’s not as simple this time, and it’s infinitely more dangerous …

Gavin (The Mavericks Book 11)

by Dale Mayer

Out on November 17th

A 5 star enjoyable read

Another fantastic story with the Mavericks.
Gavin and Shane are investigating a kidnapping in Hawaii. Where are the parents and what is going on with the daughters. They're like chalk and cheese. There's something suspicious about one of them. Gavin admired the younger sister, her intelligence was impressive and she was determined to help find her parents.
Lot's of twists towards the end of this book, it certainly kept me glued to my kindle. Great story and wonderful characters that you'll love or love to hate. Brilliant, I loved it.

When four members of one family-owned corporation are kidnapped off the streets in Honolulu, Gavin’s intel says this is a corporate espionage case … but is it?

There’s not much to like about this case. Too many people are involved, … including an old friend of Gavin’s. But, as Gavin digs deeper into the motives of the suspect pool, events get uglier, and bodies start to fall.

Rosalina has no idea how she ended up in this nightmare, but all she cares about is her ailing parents who have been separated from her and her sister. Even when she and her sister are freed, Rosalina finds no sign of their mother or father. Trying to rescue them means deciphering friend from foe …

It comes down to the wire as this close family corporation falls apart, revealing the core of darkness inside, … and leaves Gavin and Rosalina struggling to stay safe as enemies work to take out them both.

Lance: A Hathaway House Heartwarming Romance

 by Dale Mayer

Amazon

This series keeps on entertaining us. Hathaway House, I wonder if places like this exist. What an example of positive healing it offers.
Lance is our latest injured hero trying to get his life and body back together. Miserable and feeling at a standstill his mates encourage him to come.
Jessica, a nurse there catches his eye. Chemistry is there and their connection sweet.
The power of healing for Lance was music, I wished I could hear it. Beautiful story, wonderful characters and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Welcome to Hathaway House. Rehab Center. Safe Haven. Second chance at life and love.

Lance Mayfair sought out Hathaway House at the recommendation of a friend, who told him it was an answer to his prayer. Lance knows more about prayers than answers, but, if he can see progress in one particular area of his life and health, it will be worth the effort and the pain. He’ll do anything he can to play music again. It’s all he has left now that his days as a Navy SEAL are over and, with them, any chance of a happy, productive life.

However, the shoulder injury that ended his career pretty much guarantees he’ll never play his beloved instruments ever again.

Unless Hathaway House and Jessica can work a miracle.

Jessica has worked with many patients at Hathaway House, but she connects with Lance in a way she didn’t with any of the others. She can see the need inside him—his desire to create again, to heal through music. And his goal becomes her goal: to see him play music in his soul again.

Only his music isn’t all he wants or needs, and making him happy goes a long way to making her happy, but it’s not enough. Both want and need so much more.

Killer in the Kiwis (Lovely Lethal Gardens Book 11)

 by Dale Mayer

Buy Link - Amazon

Another amusing adventure with Doreen and her menagerie of pets, who usually help save the day. While her deck is being built she's on the hunt for the killer of these local elderly women. What's the kiwi connection all about? I'm enjoying watching her relationship/friendship grow with Mack, not really sparks flying but they are comfortable together. Do we have to wait for the Z book I wonder? There were many twists in this story, the author rode us on a merry chase trying to work out whodunnit. The ending sure had a very unexpected event, can't wait for the next story.

A new cozy mystery series from USA Today best-selling author Dale Mayer. Follow gardener and amateur sleuth Doreen Montgomery—and her amusing and mostly lovable cat, dog, and parrot—as they catch murderers and solve crimes in lovely Kelowna, British Columbia.

Riches to rags. ... Chaos again. ... Winning is important, ... at least for some!

Doreen is overwhelmed with joy when she sees all the volunteers who show up to help get her deck addition built. Most of the men are cops, friends of Corporal Mack Moreau’s, and are happy to help Mack’s special friend and the lady who has helped solve so many crimes for them with a spot of home renovation.

But before the deck improvement can be finished, duty calls, and the cops are called away on a case. Another gray-haired lady has dropped dead. Yet another heart attack victim is added to the long line of previous ones. And, of course, neither of these recently deceased women had a heart condition that would explain their sudden demise.

With her animals at her side, Doreen is determined to figure out what the ladies had in common, plus why and how kiwis keep popping up in this case. As she digs into the ladies’ lives, the things Doreen discover are shocking, … but not as shocking as the answer is to this riddle …

Greyson (The K9 Files) by Dale Mayer

Another favourite series of mine

5 stars
I truly love this series, always some drama but at the same time heartwarming. This one takes us to Hawaii on the hunt for a missing K9, a retired war dog. The dog is on a mission of her own protecting a single mother and toddler from a stalker. It was inevitable once Greyson found them both that he would also be protective and caring leading to interest in her. The question is who is the stalker, what does he want and will Greyson or the K9 save the day? A thoroughly enjoyable story, great characters and entertaining story all round.
