The Little Flower Shop

 by  Lori Foster

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

#theflowerlady is Emily, she owns the local florist and is the go to for weddings, funerals and all events. She's also the nicest person in town, making everyone that enters her store special.
Saul is just what she needs to shake her up and make her feel young and free again. He owns the local popular restaurant.
All the characters, including the animals had me invested in their story. Cemetery (unfortunate name) is a small town, full of nosy parkers and those who are community minded.

This is a slow burn romance which I love and such a heartwarming tale. I loved every moment and can't wait for the next story.

Since her divorce, Emily Lucretia—affectionately known as the flower lady to the people of Cemetery, Indiana—has been focused on her flower shop and taking care of her aging aunt and uncle. Her love life is hardly the centerpiece of her busy days.

Saul Culver, the town’s favorite bachelor and owner of the local barbecue joint, has been interested in Emily for a while. But as much as Emily knows about flowers, she can be a little oblivious to her own appeal. Saul is determined to show her just how special she is.

Saul isn’t the only one trying to get Emily out of her shell. Well-meaning locals have started tagging photos of Emily with #theflowerlady on social media—and now the entire town is involved in finding her Mr. Right. Saul won't give up easily. He’s
finally caught her attention, and he's determined to convince Emily—and the town—that this is the real deal and not just some passing trend.

Close Her Eyes: An absolutely heart-racing crime thriller and mystery novel (Detective Josie Quinn Book 17)

 by Lisa Regan

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Whatever I say, a review cannot give this story justice.
So many pieces of a jigsaw, interconnecting and yet not making sense.
A plethora emotions in this story.....no! how could you? to aha I knew it, oh no I didn't at all. Red herrings everywhere and I loved that I was clueless to how this murder mystery would finally unravel and make sense.
Poor Josie was put through the ringer on this one, in danger over and over.
I finished this story last night and my heart is still racing as I pen my review. How can I move on to another story, I'm still both upset and happy that it's solved.

#CloseHerEyes #NetGalley

The young woman lay among the rocks next to the creek like a broken doll, strands of her long dark hair covering her face. Her body was the kind of cold that only the dead can be…

A body lies beside Kettlewell Creek, the waters rushing and churning next to her broken form. When
Detective Josie Quinn arrives at the scene, she finds few clues and a victim with no enemies. Nineteen-year-old Sharon Eddy was cherished by her beloved grandmother, who raised her, and her death shocks the Denton community where she worked at the local animal hospital.

When Josie is called to the morgue to hear the results of Sharon’s autopsy, the case takes a sinister turn. She is horrified to see that a mark has been burned on to Sharon’s left hip with a cattle brand: a horseshoe shot through with an arrow. Shaken and terrified, the usually cool and collected
Medical Examiner Anya Feist lifts her own top to show Josie an identical mark. Ten years ago, Anya fled her hometown after her marriage to her high school sweetheart ended in terror.

But Josie can find nothing to connect Anya’s ex-husband
Vance Hadlee to the murder. Her search of his family farm leads to more questions than answers.

Then another body is found. A young woman in a red coat, lying in her final resting place, her hip bearing the same tell-tale horseshoe mark. As Josie gets closer to finding the truth, the killer creeps ever closer to home, threatening the lives of those Josie loves the most. Can she put together the pieces of this terrifying puzzle before it’s too late?

Death (Diamond MC Book 3)

 by  Lila Rose

Add to your Goodreads TBR ➩ http://bit.ly/3Z0OfMc

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
I had the privilege of an early copy of this book and read it straight through last night. Although MC is not my go to genre I love this author's work and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Leland "Death" is part of the Diamond MC he's not looking for a relationship and didn't expect to find it in his new neighbours.
Reya and her sister moved in next door and the sarcastic banter between her and Death was hilarious. He was such a grumpy d*ck to her.
I enjoyed their slow burn and all the drama around them and their families.
I highly recommend this series.

ARC kindly provided in exchange for an honest review.

New neighbors are the bane of my existence, but nothing prepares me for the new woman next door.

A long time ago, I swore off blondes.
Until her.
Until Raya crawls under my skin and stays.
Sure, she always seems pissed at me, but I’ll soon make her realize I’m not always a dick.

But then there’s a new threat that has me seeing red and needing to hunt for blood.

The name Death isn’t just for show. And anyone who steps in my way or threatens those under my protection are going to get up close and personal with the man behind the namesake.

Running is pointless… when Death knocks on your door.

Don't Back Down

 by Sharon Sala

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

It's hard to do justice with a review to such a great story from one of my unicorn authors.
Military Veteran Cameron Pope and his dog Ghost are main players in this story. A story of family, hope and love revolving around such an ugly crime happening on their mountain...human trafficking!
Pope's sister is frantic, she's been hurt in her home and her toddler is missing. This is the beginning of this crime being discovered. The FBI come to town and the Agent and Pope have a history, fate is determined to bring them together.
This was such a well written story, awesome plot and such heartwarming characters.
I loved every moment.

He barely has time to catch his breath...

Army veteran Cameron Pope arrives back in Jubilee, Kentucky, for the first time in years. He barely has time to catch his breath when he becomes embroiled in a race of life or death for his little niece and a deadly hunt for the human traffickers who are destroying the peace of his mountain town. When he's reunited with Rusty Caldwell—a woman from his past he's never stopped thinking about—he wants to believe they can finally be together. But Rusty belongs to one of the rich families in Jubilee—the same rich folks who scorn the rural families living on the surrounding mountainside. Cameron and Rusty will have to find a way to end the feuding and take down the human trafficking ring if they're to have any chance at happiness.

Dangerous Dreams: A Dark Romantic Thriller (Beautiful Nightmare Book 1)

 by Abbie Roads

This is my first time reading this author and it took me out of my comfort zone.
It was dark and at times intense, I'd no idea what was going on or what was real...but I had to know.
A strange family with gifts of visions but this was dangerous for them as lives were taken.
Xander's abilities are due to a lightning strike, he and the girl he rescues have a bond that transcends time.
Without giving away too much, there is danger, love blooming and you will have to wonder who will be alive by the end of this story.
This was one dark fairy tale involving a myth and ancient legends.

A cult. A kidnapped woman. A man who won’t stop until he finds her.

Special Skills Consultant, Xander Stone, has an uncanny ability to solve crimes, but at a painful price. When he rescues a kidnapping victim, her mere presence relieves his suffering and makes him feel something he’s never felt before. Love.

But with her free, no one is safe.
Who will survive?
Who will die?
Only fate can decide.

Dangerous Dreams is the first book in Abbie Roads’ Beautiful Nightmare Series of dark romantic thrillers. If you devour true crime and thrilling romance then you’ll love this series that combines both in a roller-coaster ride of danger, mind games, and swoon worthy love.

Their Resting Place: A completely unputdownable mystery and suspense thriller (Detective Casey White Book 8)

 B.R. Spangler

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

This is my first read by this author. Even though it's book #8 the story stands alone. I do want to go back though to see character growth.
What a horrid way to die...being hunted down and shot with arrows. We then go back in time and I could see who but not quite and not why.
As the victims fall we see their history together and the connection.
Dark and deadly secrets will be revealed.
Fantastic story line and wonderful characters. You won't be able to put it down.

Out in the field the tall stalks sway in the breeze, hiding a girl lying on the ground as if asleep. But she doesn’t stir when rain falls from the gray sky and lands on her soft cheeks. Her beautiful dark eyes stare up, unseeing, as her blood mingles with the rich brown earth.

When a member of
Detective Casey White’s team turns up at her door begging for help, Casey races to find the broken body of twenty-year-old Charlie Robson abandoned in a sunflower field. Yellow petals and broken stalks scatter the ground—and Casey immediately recognizes the red markings all over Charlie’s body as arrow wounds. Heartbroken, Casey vows to find the monster who would hunt Charlie down like this.

Interviewing Charlie’s distraught mother, Casey’s blood turns to ice when she learns about a tightknit group of Charlie’s best friends who once called themselves The Sunflower Girls. They met in archery club and have drifted apart since high school. Casey knows the killer is sending a message with arrows…
could the other girls be next?

But as Casey instructs her colleagues to track down the five remaining friends,
another girl’s body is found, shot with arrows in her own home. Clutched in her hand is a broken sunflower petal. Turning the house upside down Casey finds a bone-chilling, one-word note: Guilty.

Someone is picking off The Sunflower Girls one by one. But why? Interviewing the four remaining girls, Casey is certain they are hiding a dark secret that stretches back to their school days. Trusting no-one, Casey will have to risk everything to track down a deadly killer… but
with her own team keeping secrets too, could the real danger be much closer to home?

An unbelievably twisty rollercoaster ride that will have fans of Robert Dugoni, Kendra Elliot and Lisa Regan totally hooked until the last explosive page!

End of Story

 by Kylie Scott

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

This story kept me entertained through COVID, what a week it's been and this cheered me no end. I laughed my way through this book from beginning to end. Susie inherits her aunt's home and sets about modernising it...or rather taking away the ugly after 3 generations. I loved the little spooky mystery with the finding in the wall and I have my doubts about that cat...or Kat. Lars is her ex's friend, her friend too. The huge Viking is also her handyman slowly bringing her house to life... and her ladybits. Their chemistry sizzled but their banter even better. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and the brilliance of the author's storytelling skills.

New York Times bestselling sensation Kylie Scott’s sexy, smart and unconventional opposites-attract love story looks at what happens when fate refuses to give up on what’s meant to be…

When Susie Bowen inherits a charming fixer-upper from her aunt, she’s excited to start living her best HGTV life. But when she opens the door to find that her contractor is none other than her ex’s best friend, Lars—the same man who witnessed their humiliating public breakup six months ago—she isn’t exactly eager to have anyone around whose alliance is with the enemy. But beggars can’t be choosers, and the sooner the repairs are done, the sooner she can get back to embracing singledom.

Things go from awkward to unbelievable when Lars discovers a divorce certificate hidden in a wall and dated ten years in the future—with both their names on it. It couldn’t possibly be real…could it? As Susie and Lars work to unravel the document’s origins, the impossibility of a spark between them suddenly doesn’t seem so far-fetched. But would a relationship between them be doomed before it’s even begun?
