Delivered by the Defender: Kindred Tales 34

 by Evangeline Anderson

Is there no end to this author's crazy imagination...and I still want those 'float dots'. This Kindred is pretty much a vampire and she's a curvaceous, kinky violinist, pretty much bored with her vanilla life. It was a fantastic, action packed adventure, sizzling chemistry, and dangerous while on yet another dangerously weird planet. My fave series, I highly recommend it.

This is a Super-Plus Length Novel, almost 135,000 words long

A woman alone on a dangerous planet, where females must have male protection to survive...

A warrior intent on keeping his vow never to call a bride...

When Selena is framed for a crime she didn't commit, can Valen save her?

And will he lose his heart in the process?

The Vampire and the Violinist...
Selena Bates's ex was as boring as they come--entirely too vanilla for her adventurous tastes. Now she's getting a chance to visit a whole new planet where nobody is vanilla. On Ma'shorka Centra, all females are required to have a "Seal of Independence" prominently displayed, or a male Master who is responsible for keeping them in line. Unfortunately, Selena is single, but a girl can dream, can't she? And anyway, she's determined to have the adventure of a lifetime, playing her violin for the Emperor himself.

Valen is a Defender--the Kindred version of a lawyer. He's also a Pitch-Blood Kindred--the only kind of Blood Kindred who actually needs to drink blood. Having taken a vow never to call a bride, he is intensely irritated to find that he is sitting next to a tempting, curvy Elite on the interstellar shuttle to Ma'shorka Centra. Determined to ignore her, he gives Selena the impression that he's a world-class jerk. However, when she gets attacked at the alien spaceport and her Seal of Independence is stolen, Valen comes to her rescue. But there's one big problem--without her Seal, she needs a "Master"-- and guess who has to step up and help her out?

Valen is determined to keep his vow, no matter how tempting Selena is. But when she is framed by the vengeful Third Empress for a crime she didn't commit, only he can defend her in the crooked Ma'shorkan High Court. Will Selena have to serve her sentence of "a hundred thousand lifetimes of hard labor?" And will Valen be able to resist the tempting little Earth female?
You'll have to read...Delivered by the Defender to find out.

Her Faithful Protector: A Navy SEAL Romance (Night Storm Book 6)

 by Caitlyn O'Leary

This book grabbed me from the very beginning, I couldn't put it down. I loved the characters Nic and Camilla, they deserved their second chance after interference from others destroyed their relationship. She's in a group that has been kidnapped and held for ransom. He's going to be one of the SEALs coming to their rescue. It had all the feels, I was afraid for them both, their action packed and yet heartwarming journey made for an exciting story. The epilogue was all that and more. What a wonderful tale of romance.

Will Nic Get His Second Chance At Love?

Navy SEAL, Nic Hale, is happy. Just ask him. As the youngest member of the team he has the world by the tail, and a date every night of the week. Leaving him wide open to the team’s ribbing. No one would ever know it’s a role he plays to try to forget the woman who stole his heart years ago.

When Night Storm is called in to rescue a busload of kidnapped university students in the Mexican jungle, a mission Nic can sink his teeth into. That is until he finds out his high school sweetheart, the love who was ripped from him, is one of the hostages and all bets are off.

The Rescuer (Barrett Boys Book 4)

 by Jordan Ford

Amazon

Jake and Carmen, friends who both want more but.... well she's with someone else but not happy.
We're coming to the end of the series with one book to go, I should be sad but I'm excited to see what's next for this author.
Jake, Carmen and the others are off to the wilderness to film a documentary. It all started so well until there was extreme danger and everyone ran for their lives. Murder certainly wasn't the plan nor was getting lost. I enjoyed watching Jake and Carmen's relationship develop as they were on the run. Would they be saved in time as bullets were flying.
The back story is the brothers and their loves slowly coming together, back to where they started and life was good.
The tears were both happy and sad in this story, the author did a great job in building the suspense, I was glued to my kindle.

He agreed to a trip into the wilderness for a chance to win her heart. What he didn’t count on was a chilling murder and a race for their lives.
Jake:
Carmen is the woman for me. I’ve known it for months now.
There’s only one major problem… she’s with another guy.
But he’s so wrong for her, and this trip is going to be my chance to show her that.
She invited me, that has to mean something.

All I need to do now is get her alone for a few minutes so I can tell her how I really feel.
But then a living nightmare happens—we witness a murder.
And now we’re on the run for our lives.
Carmen and I are finally alone, just the way I was hoping… but not like this.

There’s no time to tell her how I feel when all that matters is keeping her alive.
I’ll do whatever it takes to make sure she gets out of this.

My grandpa told me that there’s no greater love than to give your life to rescue someone else. I’d give my life for Carmen. All I can hope is that I won’t have to…that I’ll be smart enough, brave enough, to get us both out of this vast forest before the killers can eliminate all evidence of their crime.

The Rescuer is the fourth standalone book in a thrilling romance series. If you like intelligent sweet guys, nail-biting action and a romance that defies the odds, then you’ll love Jordan Ford’s riveting novel.

The Summer of No Attachments

 by Lori Foster

Now that I've dried my tears I've got to try and pen a review to give this story justice.
Wow, that last chapter was emotionally exhausting, it went from sad to happy, both events causing tears.
What a beautiful tale of love and acceptance. Two best friends and colleagues and two brothers, great combo and not without its dramas. A ten year old boy, unwanted by his mother is thrown into the mix along with a dog and her puppies and a grumpy old cat. You know it's got to be chaotic.
I love this author, her characters are real and her stories entertaining.

Such a wonderful story, I loved every moment. It had all the emotions and kept me glued to my kindle.

Summer flings with no strings mean nobody gets hurt.
At least, that was the plan…

After putting the brakes on her dead-end relationship, local veterinarian Ivey Anders is ready to soak up this summer on her own terms. The way she sees it, no dating means no disappointment. Why complicate life with anything long-term? But when she meets Corbin Meyer—and his troubled young son, Justin—Ivey’s no-strings strategy threatens to unravel before she can put it into practice.

Trust doesn’t come easy for Ivey’s best friend, Hope Mage, a veterinary-clinic assistant who’s affected by an incident that’s colored every relationship she’s had. Though Hope’s happy for Ivey, she can’t quite open her own heart to the possibility of love. Not just yet… Maybe not ever. Soon, however, she’s faced with a dilemma—Corbin’s older brother, Lang. He’s charming, he’s kind…and he may just be the reason Hope needs to finally tear down her walls.

And as the sweet summer months unspool, the two friends discover love won’t give up on them so easily.

Love for Beginners: A Novel (The Wildstone Series, 7)

 by Jill Shalvis

5 awesome stars

This story had so many feels, if I wasn't cracking up laughing then I was teary eyed. We begin with the early stages of Emma's recovery after waking from her coma, her life has changed dramatically. Her BFF and her fiancΓ© comforted each other much too closely while she was in a coma. Her parents have returned to their home, she's feeling alone except for her giant scaredy-cat dog. Yeah Hog the dog is the star of the show here. Her PT instructor Simon is wakening up parts of her body other that what he's working on. There's a great connection there. Her story is beautiful, not all doom and gloom, her coping with life, her long ago school enemy Alison,is now a frenemy and business partner. These 3 had their own POV, their own issues and flaws. You'll not regret picking up this book, the highs and lows, the side characters and other pets all made for an extremely entertaining tale of love.

What would you change if you had to start your life—and love life—over again?

When Emma Harris wakes up from a coma she learns that her fiancΓ© and her BFF have fallen in love, she’s lost her job, and the life she knew is gone. Overwhelmed but grateful to be alive she starts over from scratch. Not as easy as it sounds, of course. But she’s never been a quitter, even if she wishes she could quit rehab, where her hot but evil physical therapist, Simon, puts her through the wringer.

Eager for a new beginning, Emma opens a doggy day care. Unfortunately, the only space she can afford is owned by her childhood nemesis Ali Pratt. But hey, she’s been through worse, right? She tries to roll with the punches, but a friend drops his grandpa off at the doggy day care in desperation then on top of that, she and Ali bring the term ‘frenemies’ to a whole new level. And then another grandparent shows up. And another.

In the midst of all that, Emma realizes she’s accidentally fallen for Evil PT. But the most horrifying thing of all is that Ali just might have turned into the best friend she’s ever had. And as Emma grows from the pain of her past and takes on her new path, she comes to realize that life isn’t what you’re given, it’s what you make of it.

The Vet from Snowy River

 by Stella Quinn

5 stars

Where has this author been hiding from me? What a great story, I loved it.
Set in a country town, where everybody knows each other and all their business. Vera has escaped the city, her old life, her ex and the troubles there.....except for a legal battle which will drag her back.
Meanwhile she's starting a new life, meeting people, taking care of her aunt with dementia, falling for the local vet and yet keeping everyone at arm's length. Sounds exhausting, you know she's going to crack.
I loved all the other characters in this town, they mystery that the vet is having and all the other events going on.
A fabulous rural romance, I devoured it.

A hot vet. A rebellious teenager. And meddling but well-meaning townsfolk. Vera gets more than she bargains for when she runs off to a new life in the country ... A fresh and funny rural romance, perfect for readers of Alissa Callen and Rachael Johns.

Vera De Rossi no longer believes in love ...

And thanks to her ex-boyfriend she's also broke, jobless, and staring down the barrel of a court case that could land her in prison. Turning to her talent for baking, Vera opens a cafe in Hanrahan, a cosy tourist town in the foothills of the Snowy Mountains.

Josh Cody, once Hanrahan's golden boy, escaped sixteen years ago with gossip hard on his heels and a pregnant girlfriend in tow. Now he's back: a qualified veterinarian - and a single dad with a lot to prove. A new start and a grumpy teenage daughter ... it's a lot to juggle, and there's no room in his life for further complications. But that's before he walks into The Billy Button Cafe and meets its prickly owner ...

Reeling from the past, Vera has no intention of being sidetracked by the hot vet with a killer smile. But fate has a way of tripping up our best intentions and between a stray cat and a busybody with a heart of gold, this is a town - a family - unlike any other. And, whether Vera wants it or not, is there anything a family won't do to help one of its own?

PRAISE:

'The perfect feel-good blend of warmth, wit and small town charm. This debut will leave you smiling.' Alissa Callen bestselling author of Snowy Mountains Daughter
